The short version

Run. Leap. Splash.

Dock diving is a dog sport where your dog sprints down a dock and launches into a pool after a toy. It looks wild, and it is — but there’s real technique behind a great jump: a confident approach, a well-timed toss, and a dog who trusts the water.

Lessons at Leaping Legends are coached by professional trainer Audra Sharpf. Distance markers run along the side of the pool, so you can see exactly how far your dog flies and watch the numbers climb. Whether you just want an epic outlet for a high-energy dog or you’re eyeing dock diving competitions, we’ll meet your dog where they are.

What to expect

How it goes

  1. 01

    Warm-up swim

Your dog gets comfortable in the pool and we find the floating toy they’ll chase anywhere. New to swimming? We’ll start with a swim lesson instead.

  2. 02

    Approach & launch

Audra coaches the run down the dock, where to stand and when to throw so your dog takes off with confidence instead of hesitating at the edge.

  3. 03

    Measure & build

The foot markers on the pool show every jump. Short, positive reps build distance while keeping your dog eager for more.

The dock & the pool

Our dock is a long, turf-covered runway with wood-and-wire railings, so paws get grip and dogs stay focused on the pool. It launches into a 40′ pool surrounded by big shade trees in Bolivar.

Evening sessions come with a Missouri sunset at no extra charge. On the hottest weekends we start as early as 7 a.m.

Questions

Good to know

Dock diving is a high-energy dog sport where a dog sprints down a dock and launches into a pool after a toy. Jumps are measured by distance — our pool even has foot markers along the side so you can see how far your dog flies.

Nope! Your dog doesn’t have to know what dock diving is to come swim. If they like the water, that’s good enough for us — and if they don’t, we’ll teach them. Nervous swimmers and puppies start with a swim lesson; confident swimmers can move on to coached dock diving.

Any dog who enjoys (or wants to learn to enjoy) the water. We see everything from Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds to Labs and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. The only requirement to rent the pool: not be a cat.

Bring your dog’s favorite floating toy, a leash and a towel (or two — you will get splashed). Audra will let you know anything else when she confirms your appointment.

Your dog’s new favorite day is a text away.

Pick a time on the calendar or text Audra. Every request goes straight to her phone, and she’ll confirm your splash by text.
